        • I have to admit I am jealous. Love to make it up there if only to reciprocate Phil for a good brew he shared at XSEast. However, I am still trying to get that dang miss out of the bike. I did figur eout my tire issue was actually over torqued swingarm bolts. Clymers says 47 ft-lbs, FSM says 43-52 IN-LBS. Small difference!!

                • ride

bike is almost ready to go, need gas, then off to the great white north. over night stay in water town, meet up with fellow xs'ers, then a ferry ride or two, hook up with a local guide and well you know the rest.

everybody have a great ride to the north and i will see you there.

Same with me. I am single in a double, Room #14. If Ray has another customer that needs a room for the weekend then I am willing to share with another XSer.

Bike is all loaded up and ready to roll. Heading toward Peace Bridge early AM and plan to stop at QEW Grimsby exit #74 for coffee break at Tim Horton's around 10:15 or so. Forecast: sunny, mid 80's, 0% chance of rain will be perfecto.

                      • Fate tried to stop me from making XSnorth

Well after months of splitting my case and rebuilding from the bottom up I got my bike on the road....
Only 10 days ago the engine starts smoking bad.
Well I'm not going to let a little thing like jugs that have been worn too large stop me. off to the machine shop to see the bore and piston sizes ...
What! 12 thou is too much slop in the piston, darn....
Lucky I have an extra engine under the bench at my friends garage.
Clean, hone and swap jugs and pistons. 9 days to go
Opps forgot to order new head gasket 8 days to go
Waste 1 day trying to reuse old head gasket 7 days to go
Order whole new gasket kit (2 days + 1 for Quebec holiday) 4 days to go
Install Québécois head gasket and get bike running 3 days to go.
Test ride and have clutch problems 2 days.
Great now I’m ready .... anybody ridding through Peterborough on the way north Friday?

Deb and I drove up to Alexandria Bay today. Had a nice time strolling around the town. Should be in Halibuton by early afternoon on Friday. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Ride safe

North to Hwy 27 to 9 @ Schomberg
Go east on 9 to Bathurst road and go north (Left) to Green Lane Rd.
Go East (Right) on Green Lane and just stay on it.
At Woodbine ave. it will change its name to Herald Rd.
Continue straight and it will again change its name to Sandford rd at Durham rd. 30.
Stay straight again until you get to Regional Road #1. (Sandford is a dead end at this point.)
Go North on RR#1(Left) to RR#13 at Leaskdale. (There is a general store there with gas.)
Go East (Right) and follow it all the way to Simcoe St. #2. (RR13 ends there.)
Go North (Left) on Simcoe st. up to Glenarm Rd. RR#8. (After this point Simcoe St. turns into a dirt road)
Go East (Right) on Glenarm Rd #8 all the way to Hwy #35. You will probably start running into more traffic at this point but at least it will be moving.
Hwy #35 North (Left) to #21 at Minden.
Keep right for #21 and follow it to motel. It is on that road once you get to Haliburton.

This is the route I used to take to my trailer up north. There is a few turns and smaller roads, but it does move along quite well. Much better than the major arteries.

                            I hope this will help,
                            Wayne
                            Hey all,
Went up to the motel today and the road Simcoe st. up to Glenarm rd is closed. Follow the detour through Woodville and turn left at Hwy 46. Follow the orange detour signs.

                            • Ralph, Rochelle and DuWayne made it safely into Canada and Port Perry. Had a long drive to the motel and back to drop off some goodies. Ran into Slo Mo with his brand new side car. Weather is changing and looking good for the weekend.

Everyone ride safe and we will all see each other in Haliburton,
