          • Hey Sharan,
Your pictures and video are great. Glad you and Wes made it. Beware though, these rallies are addicting. Once you attend one, you just gotta' go to more.

                  • Brent's Clutch

Brent lives a charmed life in my opinion.

                    1) Although the clutch cable let go at 2:00 on a Sunday in the Canadian wilderness, He was able to ride for 30 minutes along very twisty roads until our next gas stop and then another hour plus back to the motel.

                    2) Very few Canadian Motorcycle dealers are open on a Sunday, they are all off riding.

                    3) A phone call to the Barrie Harley Davidson let us know they were open, had the parts and were only 80 km away. http://www.barriehd.com/

                    4) Unfortunately, it was the Sunday of a long week end, and the route along the Highway 11 was a parking lot, what should have taken 45 minutes took 90 minutes.

                    5) The Dealer is located on a street that has two parts with a ravine between the two parts. I ended up on the wrong part.

                    6) A rider on a Harley was just ahead of me, so I pulled along side and asked him where the dealer was. He started to tell me then said it was easier if I followed him. He took me right to the door.

                    7) By now it was 4:15, they had closed 15 minutes earlier.

                    8) I start to call the Motel in Minden to let Brent know the bad news, when the back door opens and a young lady exits.

                    9) She decides to help and we go into the dealer, after she turns all the alarms off. She starts to call around for the parts manager, the store owner and others. She final connects with the service manager, who did not work Sundays but is just finishing dinner at a near by restaurant.

                    10) He arrives in 10 minutes at just before 5:00. He gets the correct cable, a gasket and a litre of the Syn 3.

                    11) At 5:15 I am on the way to Minden, still some weekend traffic but it clears by 5:45 and I am in Minden in time for dinner.

                    12) The cable is on Brents bike by 8:45

                    13) I am on my way to Ottawa before 9:00

Ted!!! You are the Man!!! I am totally impressed with what you did for Brett. Talk about a stroke of luck with the young girl, the service guy, the restaurant and the parts in stock. WHEW!
There is one more thing that Ted did that nobody knows about...I had wicked heartburn after breakfast on saturday. He had the rolaids. Thanks Ted:-)
