Excellent day for a ride. I had to fill up twice. Got some ideas.... We will talk this weekend and I have a trailer spot booked for the 5th and 6th of June to finalize routes and places to eat. It's just too far to do some scouting in a day. It's all in good hands.... which reminds me.... Do we have a place to eat saturday night?

                        • got this from another list , be careful out there

I was cruising west on Highway 60 towards Whitney at about 65 MPH on a
clear Monday morning. Since I wasn't in Algonquin Park yet and have
never seen moose along this stretch, my moose alert sense was on the
back burner. I was reflecting on what a nice trip this has been and
how happy I was that it wasn't snowing like this date on the last two
                          years.

Now you think that a moose standing on the opposite shoulder of the
road would get my attention, wake me from my reverie if you will.
You'd think so but no, I didn't notice the creature until I was about
fifty feet away. When I saw it, I braked hard and looked at
alternatives but it was all up to the moose by this time. Nothing I
could do would affect the outcome. It just looked at me until was
amost even and then spooked. Luckily, it reared and moved away from
the road. Smart moose. Lucky me.

So, I wasn't as aware as I should have been and scared myself. No
matter how many miles you have ridden, you can still have lapses that
                          can do you in.
