  • THnx for the pics Randy. Keep em comin! Plzzzz.
Five days ago I was on my way to the rally feeling like I was 25 years old without a care in the world. Today I'm cuttin the grass, cleaning windows and taking out the garbage. What a harsh reality check Oh well, I got 08 to look forward to.

    • I'm Home

I got home at 4:30 yesterday. I rode most of the way with Sally and Marty.
As soon as I got home I had to go do the cookout thing with family.

Those of you who know what I am talking about, Lois’ Grandmother is
doing well, and received a pace maker with no complications today.

I never did get wear patterns, (chords), showing on my back tire, but about 80
miles from home the back brake started feeling like metal on metal, so I started
taking it easy on it. Then, at 60 miles from home, I couldn’t down shift. I think
the return spring for the shifter either fell off, or broke. I figured out how to
down shift, but it was tedious. Guess I did deserve the Rat Bike Award after
      all!

Thank you everyone for making this a great weekend, especially Gary and
Dena. I can’t wait till next year!

              • It's Wednesday night and I just walked in the door. No issues on the way home. I waved goodbye to Brent and Leanne a couple hours ago. It looks like I broke 2800 miles on this trip! Got a late start and a leisurely pace today. Thanx for the powder, Gary!

                • Hi All,

Made home at about 1:30 local time on Wednsday. I have not heard from Dave but I suspect he got home about a half hour after he left my home. We took the scenic route back to Canada, driving to Champlain, NY. I met my friend Jim there, he was hanging about the Duty Free Shop and he rode back to NS on the scoot. Now Jim Beam and I are having a time typing up this report

Except for heavy winds buffeting the scooter in Quebec, Dave's chain making lots of noise (bought some lube spray in a small Quebec town where their English was not so good and our French even worse) and cold temps between NB and NS this morning, it was an uneventual trip home.

Thanks to Gary and Dena for all the work they did. Had lots of fun....even on a scooter . It was great to meet up with old friends and make some new ones.

Total mileage : 3880 kms, you do the conversion to miles, Jim and I are just not into this right now.....

                    • Re: I'm Home

Leeanne and I arrived home today. Wednesday 5-30-2007.

Great trip. Just a trace of rain near Washington DC & just a trace of tread showing on parts of my back tire on arrival home.

Much beautiful scenery; NY finger Lakes region, VA scenic byways, Blue ridge Parkway...Many scenic & side trips (including one into Roanoake). Next year I hope to bring my maps. Both Kendal & Leeanne were happy campers and good travelers, and seemed to grow more comfortable with riding as the trip progressed.

Much thanks to all involved! It was a memorable rally.

Yea I posted pix on Flickr. I finally got the videos uploaded this morning. Not the best but I'm pretty impressed she figured it out (I can't do it, ha!) Guess I'm gonna have to get her a video camera!

Rally was the best - thanks Gary / Deanna. TJ said to tell you she felt it was the best rally she's been to yet! I thoroughly enjoyed being there, riding and chatting with everyone. Wish I'd taken another day's vacation so I could've stayed for Sunday's ride.

Thanks again and best wishes to all I met - hope we all have a safe and happy riding summer!
