Knewsome, If all it took was a screwdriver and a little tap, then they weren't REALLY stuck! If they were REALLY stuck... you'd be tapping until you'd break one of the towers off. Ken's tool works like a dream.
Note to MRO: I have yet to have a chance to try your prototype. All the Kawi's and Truimphs, etc, use a float pin of uniform diameter... no head or increasing diameter end to stick in the tower hole. But first chance I get...

Well, to the XS on a ride up HWY 1 this weekend, from Winters to San Fran to Bodega Bay, and through Calistoga/Napa on 112/128 back home. That is her longest continuous trip yet, and she ran like a champ. Had the chick on the back, and a small travel bag. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my great weekend of riding.
Moto, I am an ass... I have had your package sitting on my kitchen table for a week now... but haven't sent it yet. I have been so selfish I didn't want to get in the truck and take it to the PO, and riding with a big o' bottle of liquer isn't that easy. Since the bike is running and the sun is shining, the truck is being neglected. I will drop this in the mail by tomorrow. Randy, the TCI is sitting next to Brant's bottle, look for it by the end of the week.

Recieved your care package yesterday! Way more than expected! That PERMANETLY inducted you a true XSer here! The Venturer behaved itself to Salttown and back for the almost 800mile roudtrip with some ridin' on the side while there. Ambition or bending a washer ear and dropping a pin out of shift pawl shaft(whichever comes first) will lead me to fixing second gear soon. Goin up to Salttown again Fri.19th for a wedding, but on the ST as I like the 50mpg and ease of crusing at 80+mph. It's also set up as a tourer with a Corbin tour seat and bar riser/setbacks and has no noise cept for the occassional tire noise on certain asphalt. Get all the 'bugs' ironed out of your XS, fine-tuned and all, your gonna love the pay-off and the performance of these 25+ year old bikes, plus the satisfaction of you making it happen!

Moto, glad it made it there! I was hoping that noone would snatch it in transit, cash and alchohol in the same box.... equals a heist quality shipment! After your 800 mile road trip, my 200mi trip up the coast on the 1 last weekend seems like a ride to the market. I can t wait to get her aon a real long ride.
The misses want to take a ride to South Lake Tahoe, but I cant seem to get the fuel stopped, so I have to solve that mystery first. I was hoping to rebuilt the petcocks, so at least could stop the fuel manually, but still get to ride until I rebuilt the carbs. However last night whn I took them apart I was hoping to only have to replace the o-ring, but the rubber gasket in the back of the petcock (with the 5 holes in it) was completely destroyed on the left side, and split/cracked between the holes on the right.

Randy, I still havent sent the other one out yet. I am looking for the 6 little screws for the lid. They were sitting next to it on the kitchen table, but the lady moved it all out to the garage, without seeing the screws. 2 are still missing. I will get it in the mail soon, take your time getting it back, whenever you get the time.
