No, those wre calculated in US gallons
OK, that actually was calculated on US gallons, namely 3.88 liters = 1US gallon.
The 41 mpg was after 120 miles on windy coastal highway, averaging 50m/hr.
My bike I imported from Chicago, it has the US speedometer, so my miles did not have to go through a conversion calculation.
However, you are right, that after my float adjustment I did run a bit lean, and had to back off my idle adjustment screw. ( Is that the right name for the adjustable brass screw facing the front on the carb? Not sure on the terminology here)
So now it starts easier again on cold mornings , and the mpg's are 38-39mpg.
Any comments on this?
Would it be better to get back to the float and adjust the tap to close a bit later, to make the bowl fuller?80 1100SG with 79 engine
