    I have removed them from both of my bikes and the ignition/horn relay (custom mod) lives in it's place. If the situation arises, I will have to do as Deebs suggested.

      I won’t argue that because I used the feature just once. If it works as you say, it makes zero sense to engineer that into the motorcycle. My memory tells me the high beam was attenuated.

        I read something on the Venture forum about some models having attenuation. The XS650 forum doesn’t seem to address it. My curiosity is piqued. Perhaps I’ll look into this more when I have some more time.

                I looked and found the identical chart in the 1982 XS650 manual. They say, “Read the manual!” I never learned. Always the measure of last resort.
