    1979 Standard New Tires

All the bikes are gone I keep in touch with some of the new owners. Theo reached out and wants to put new tires on the 79 standard he is heaving trouble finding tires that fit. He also asked are they tubed or tubeless.
Theo has a real passion for the bikes and it is great to see this any help would be greatly appreciated.
Aging out has some benefits great to stay in touch with the new owners.

    Shinko Tourmaster 230

    Front 110/90/19
    Rear 130/90/17

The 79 Standard is a split year, early production models are tubed while the late are tubeless.

It will be stamped on the rim if it is tubeless.

Thanks bikerphil, Theo here, great to meet you. The current tires I have on there are Dunlop:

Front - MM90H 19 (I might be wrong but I think it translate to 90/90-19)
        Rear - MT90B 17 (same goes here,100/90/17?)

        Regarding tube/tubeless - I’ll look for a stamp.

bikerphil - good news! They are tubeless.

Let me know if my tire sizing is incorrect from my last comment. If they are, I’ll see if I can source the below:

          Shinko Tourmaster 230

          Front 110/90/19
          Rear 130/90/17

          Thanks again for your help!

Generally speaking my XS ate up three rears and two fronts per year, the Shinko 230 is definitely the way to go. The Bridgestone Battle-axe just plain rode better but for the same amount of life expectancy as the Shinko they weren't worth the extra cash.

There's also the Shinko 712 which may give you another 500-100 miles on the rear but you'll have your hands full on tar snakes, bridge grates and rain grooves.

Theo, I'm not familiar with the alpha numeric tire sizes you listed in post #4, the front may be a bit narrow.

I used to run the Shinko 712 series but I prefer the 230. Better handling and longevity, JMHO.

Yep, you'll like them. The larger front 110 fills up the fender well nicely, more tire on the road as opposed to the skinny 100's.
