The pilot jet should look like this. It's the hole at the end that you should be concerned with. It should have a small hole at the tip with a shallow divot. The incorrect jet has a deep recess. If I remember correctly the holes in the side (holes or no holes) work either way.

[QUOTE=cajun31;n888412]When you removed the pilot screws did you get all the parts out? There should have been the screw, a spring, a small washer and a rubber o ring. The reason I ask is sometimes that o ring doesn't come out by just falling out and sometimes if it is really hard and old it can actually attach itself at the bottom of the tunnel. I fashioned a pick with a little hook on the end to be able to reach down in there to remove them. By the way if those o rings are not still somewhat soft and pliable then they will need to be replaced.

Yes, I am fortunate to have a second carb bank that I am pulling apart simultaneously. Somehow, it was on filthy set of carbs that the little rubber gasket came out and caused me to look closer at it all! Thanks Cajun31

Thanks Schming. I would have done that backwards.

So, more fuel = less heat?
