Anyone fitted one up, and if so, what benefits have you experienced?

My problem with the looks of that is wire flex. We KNOW why the old pickup coils failed, and the wire used does not look like the "flexible wire" needed to keep things from breaking.
I may need to look into building one of my own, that would meet MY specs for reliability.

This system basically eliminates the manual vacuum advance. No moving parts so no wires moving or flexing. Z18-14-en.pdf

Just wanted to add a note from the site that sells it.

Digital ignition system for Yamaha XS1100, replacement for the original electronic ignition and advance unit. The vacuum advance won't be used any longer.
Most models have a 15 mm shaft diameter. The 2H7 and 2H9 models have a 14 mm shaft, so if you have a 2H7 or 2H9 make sure you select 14 mm shaft version.
