  • This is interesting....

I was workin on Exodia today and had an interesting problem. idle is ok..crack throttle alittle...ok drops bak to norm. hit 2.5k-3k and then it will keep climbing. i cleaned carbs, lubed slides w/ wd40, checked throttle cabel and she still will climb. went 4 a ride like this.. interesting to not hve to use clutch as much, but dangerous. help!

first make sure your springs and cable are all correct. not broken, hanging up or whatever. if your SURE the butterflies are closing properly. clean the carbs. i've had more than 1 carb do this.

It might be an air leak. Pull the carbs and intake boots. Then reseal the boots with Yamabond #5 where they meet the cylinder head. Put it all back together and se how she runs.

          Geezer.

If you used silicone slealer probably otherwise it depends on how long ago you did it.

While you have it apart, hang the cable with a bag of oil on one end to lube it. It never hurts and is much better than spray lubes.
