xs1100 flasher

    I filed the points it didn't help but i hooked my test light to ground and touched it to the wire on the left and the test light lite up, touched it to the wire on the right side and the lights start blinking. does that tell us anything?

      The area in red shows the flasher cancel feature. Your circuit could be stuck in cancel mode. If you can disconnect just the yellow/green wire from the flasher and the flasher works, that is where your problem is.

        if i disconnect that wire it won't do anything.

          Sounds like a bad flasher. I believe you hooked up the 2 pole flasher like this? And it flashed OK?
