    I'm upgrading my forks on my XS1100G with Racetech cartridge emulators and heavier springs, so I'm ditching the schrader valve fork caps for solid ones. I had a hard time finding non-air caps that would work.

    So, just in case anyone else wants to do the same I found a very good replacement option. Kawasaki p/n# 44062-010 . It is dimensionally identical to the stock caps but instead uses a solid 22mm hex as can be seen in the photos.

      Nice! Glad to see your back on the project. Can't wait to tear up the streets around the Burgh with you. I'll be on the stocker with the pogo stick legs, you know, in your mirror.

      Emulators seem to be the way to go for keeping the cafe look and getting the modern suspension. USD legs just seem too bulky on a stripped down cafe most times.

        Im excited to do the same. Between about a million things the xs11 build got pushed aside for a few months. Now that swap meet season is over and I've got a few other projects done I'm back on it. Have made a lot of progress, but havent really documented it.

        I decided with the Ohlins on the rear there was no way I could leave the forks stock, but I didnt want to swap front ends though.

          It has the same threads as well? I need to get them myself. I tried searching the part number at Partzilla. No match. Help, please.

            I was pondering that someone who was searching for the origianal caps might be able to mount a schrader valve on those blanks.

              Apparently, the Kawasaki parts are also NLA.

                Those caps would fit a Standard only, they have fine threads, the Special caps have coarse threads.

                    Yep, just went and checked them to be sure, Standard (KYB) air caps are 1.0 thread pitch, Special (Showa) are 1.5

                    Special on the left.

                      I should have been more clear. The ones I used are for the standard model which use m30x1.0 threads.

                        XS1100G is a 1980 Standard.

                        The emulators are great, I have them in both my bikes with Sonic springs.
