Hmm, very interesting. I always thought it was an enrichment passage for the choke.
"We are often so caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the journey." "

Maybe just an atmospheric pressure addition to the float bowl would assist in drawing the fuel through the enricher circuit. Not really to pressurize, but to create a pressure DIFFERENTIAL. When the vacuum pulls on the circuit, it creates a lower pressure, but maybe not enough without the vent to atmosphere. Maybe I'm just rambling on and that's all of my $.02. Thanks for all the help. Mine's still in the shop not torn down, but maybe soon...

Right you are, pardner! Excuse the pun. I just wanted to tear off the carbs once more and finally get it right this time. Haven't even looked at it for two or three weeks, and am getting kind of lonesome to ride it again. I just love that inline-4 power especially when I can leave it in high gear at 15 mph and steadily roll the throttle and feel the POWER of this fine machine. I guarantee you couldn't do that with and V-twin including American built. Given the same cubic inch displacement you would have bucking and jerking in high or even fourth gear. Guess I just love my Eleven. You can't beat the smoothness of it all around. Here I go rambling again. Guess I need to change my name to XSive ramblin', huh? Thanks, GNEPIG, and keep this thread going.
