    Thanks!

Thank you for the response Tom, by any chance could you shed some light on the headlight question as well?

    Thanks

Re the headlamp, the dip switch sends current to one wire of the headlamp at a time. So, on dipped beam, one of the three wires to the headlamp will carry current. On full beam, it's the other wire. Both wires are never live at the same time.

The only time both wires are live is when the dipped beam is on and the the 'pass' switch (headlamp main beam flasher) pressed.

        What he said

And the 3rd wire James mentions is earth, Black on these bikes. You may find more than 3 wires going to the headlight which will be the pilot light, that is wired separately so it comes on with the first click of the original lightswitch.
Again, they are not shown on the Chop wiring diagram as the twin headlights he wanted fitting didn't come with pilot lights.

On the twin headlights - don't bother!

If anyone has done the xs Chop wiring, could you send over or post a picture of what it looks like completed or some build photos? I'm hoping this is going to be what I need but I'd like to know before hand. Also, has anyone tried the chop wiring with a lithium battery?
