I like the fact that US (me) old farts with an antique bike can kicked someones ass with ease. I have had a couple encounters but before I am hitting 3rd, they have gave up. little do they know I would have done the same if I was behind.

I do know that I saw the speedo past the 140 mark and the tach into the red. The GPS said top speed at 145 and I give a little more faith to that but do not know if I was up there long enough for it to have been 100% accurate or not.1985 Yamaha VMX12n "Max X" - Stock

In my twenties I recall running in the 130's against a Kawi but now in my 40's (and married with child) 80 would be my upper limit.Ernie

Change
Since I have put on the 750 final I can only go 130 in 5th gear. If I want to go faster I have to shift down to 4th. Not bad for a 30 yr old bike with fairing, bags and box. I haven't yet found another bike that can pass me if I don't want them to except the CHP on a BMW that I couldn't catch. I'm sure that some day I'll run up against a 'Busa or such that will blow by me REAL fast. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I'm sure
There are bikes that will blow me away, but I haven't seen one yet. Then there is the possiblity that some had the capability but the rider didn't have the balls to go there. 130 on the freeway in traffic scares the hell out of some. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

It sure won't be either of mine. I'm dealing with enough leg injuries already, not from a bike accident but a helicopter.
I drive like an old man anyway even though I'm only 44.
If you see me riding, I'll just be cruising along sight seeing.

Me too
I love back roads, twisties and sight seeing, but in So. Cantaffordya, you first have to get "outa town" to do any of those things and when I get on the freeway to "get outa town" I don't waste any time doing it. I see all the HD guys over there in the right lane with the dirt trucks. It just ain't me. I like to go fast and I especially like exceleration.
Besides, I got this angel riding with me......You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Burnt toast?
So, tell me more about this Brit bike. Rocket III? If it's that fast I may have to have one. Faster than a 'Busa? I'm not sure I'm the fastest when I win one of these freeway races. Could be in some cases they weren't willing to do it with me in the traffic. I can certainly understand that because of the way I zig zag through at high speed.
I know there's an angel because I know I've been saved a couple of times already. I don't think that Dave wants anything to happen to the Pathfinder.
When not being challenged by some kid on a crotch rocket I tend to travel just a little faster than the flow of traffic because it is safer for me if I can be less concerned about the rear and concentrate on what's in front. That usually means around indicated 80 MPH which is actually 75 MPH.You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Gone to god
Yep, Youtube is down the tube right now. When it comes alive again the vid is well worth a look. Plane, I think you'll like it. It's a modern version of our bikes IMHO.
