Thanks for all the links guys.
Unfortunately, as nice as this grab bar appears, it is definitely not from/for the XS100SF (1979 Special). The one for the SF is basically round tubing.

Keep looking. The correct one is out there for you.

Thanks Mike, just my luck, the guy I bought it from told me it would fit. Oh well, another loss.

Good news You won't believe what I found

Hello Gentlemen, you won't believe what I found, I found the grab bar and a mint seat, but the grab bar was painted at the top. I removed the paint and noticed the chrome was pitted and discolored. The rest of the grab bar looks mint, why would the top look dull and pitted? Can it be fixed or polished out? or re-chromed?
Thanks for the tips and advise.

                Nice find.

Try power buffing the grab bar with some ivory colored rouge first.

You may not have any chrome left in that area but it will shine.

                1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
                1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
                1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
                1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

                    Nice find mate

Why would the top look dull and pitted?

My guess would be its simply where the chrome has been worn over time by a pillion holding on.

I believe so as well. That and rider always placing their hands on it to push, pull, pull up on center stand. The natural oils from hands probably over time started to slowly etched the chrome away.

That seat and grab bar are downright sexy.

Your bike looks really nice from what shows in those pictures.
