Here are some sites that may provide you with some useful information. They are not for the 81's, but the color codes were probably close or the same.
I would also suggest that you beg, borrow, or steal a Clymers Manual # 411, which has a wiring diagram for the XS1100H, (1981) on the back pages. They are not in color, but you should be able to decipher the colors from the position of the wires, or by referencing the colors in the third site listed.

NeverCat, I suggest sending 3Phase(Scott) a PM. He has and would likely be able to scan and PM you the complete wiring diagrahm....in COLOR.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

You folks are THE BEST!
I brought the bike home and I've decided to just move the TCI and wire in the M-unit to that.
With the spare TCI I'm going to see if there are any more stable components I can upgrade inside of it (as it seems to be a common point of failure)
I think I'll move the thread to my introductory thread just to keep the clutter down as from here forward unless I discover anything new I'll be updating my work there.
Awesome how we got a lot of scattered info in one place now

NeverCat, the TCI is NOT a common issue. The only occasional issue I've seen on here is for whatever reason, internally, they have developed a 'cold' solder connection which can easily be rectified by re-soldering that connection.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
