  • 79' Carbs Hose Identification

I started this bike 1 1/2 years ago and didn't make adequate notes when I pulled the carbs off. Please tell me (as you see it in the picture) which "T" fitting is the fuel and which is the air. I can't remember.

The one closest to the top of the carb is the vent, the one closest to the float bowl is the fuel inlet.

You've got some serious cleaning to do there. I hope all the jets and emulsion tubes will come out.

Those are as bad as mine were...put them in a ultrasonic tank...Call around
to your local shops...one of them should have one and clean the internals once
you take the other parts off...Keep us posted with more pictures...Good Luck

Thanks guys, really appreciate it! These are one the dirtiest sets I have seen but I am on the 4th carb and only twisted off one main jet and two rail screws.

I am dipping in Berrymans and also ultrasonic cleaning these and they have been a challenge!

        Thanks for the hose identification!

This is not good for the butterfly shaft seals, better take them out first or you may need to replace them, if they leak air the bike will never run right.

Berrymans is my #1 go to spray carb cleaner, best on the market, but if your dipping your carbs in it plan on replacing the butterfly shaft seals also.

In fact every set I refurbish the shaft seals get replaced

Your carbs look challenging but they'll clean up nice, GL

HaHa I run to get a coffee and Phil slides one in there.
