What I meant you did not put this back on the bottom of the engine before you tried to install the filter and bolt? It only belongs if you have an oil cooler and I thought you said you removed a cooler just want to make sure

How do you guys post those large pictures...I took that bolt out with the
plate the hoses screwed into...I'm screwing the cover / filter bolt into the
bottom of the engine...even with the two tabs lined up...the bolt bottom out
before sealing to the engine...its either the bolt is wrong or the cap that holds
the filter is wrong...???
Here's a few of the oil filter bolt hole on the bottom of the case.
Not a good pic but here is the bolt hole threaded all the way to the bottom....
Measured to where the bolt would bottom out it's about 27mm...
The length of the thread is about 24mm, that's about an inch.........
So the bolt can't bottom out but it can theoretically run out of thread. Did you check the threads in the case? Did you try to screw the bolt up in there without the cup to see if it's going all the way? It should screw in all the way to the end of the threads on the bolt by itself.

Open a photobucket account and upload your pics to your library from your phone or your computer.
Just remember, if you delete any pics you've posted to .com from your photobucket account they will no longer show on the forum either.

Yeah, I missed that when I was posting the other. If that's the case then the stock replacement bolt must stick WAYYYY more up over the mating surface than a couple threads like my pic before shows.

When you pull up a pic on photobucket hover the cursor over the top left corner of the pic and a drop down will appear. Chose "share" from the list, in a moment a "share the photo" window will appear. From that list click on the 'IMG' code. It will turn yellow and say "copied". From there you can go back to your .com post and paste it in the post where you want it to appear.
