Well... theres the problem right there
So today I drained the oil and started taking her apart. after getting the boot out of the way and taking all the bolts out I started to pull out the gearbox when I heard a noise and found this had fallen out.
Then I continued to try getting it out and blammo!
Not sure how I didn't realize this before but I'm prettttty sure those are supposed to be connected. After getting the gearbox out I inspected all the splines anyway.
All appears good to me. No abnormal wear patters really and all bearings are good. I got pretty lucky i was stopped when it happened. I only found two of the screws to hold it together. one was in the shaft housing itself and one was inside the swingarm. I'm gonna get in there good and clean it out and run through it with a magnet to be sure the other screws aren't in there. So if I find some bolts to fit i should be good.
Next up, bar swap and longer exhaust studs. then brakes and shocks.
