In keeping with the thread, here is a NOS sissy bar for my 82 XJ1100 that I scored on Fleabay. It came in a NOS box with Yamaha markings. I was sad to throw away the box.

Nothing like NOS parts to empty your wallet but fill your moto-heart. I keep my branded packaging but then I'm crazy like that.

Not exactly NOS but within 62 miles of NOS. The donor bike was wrecked at 62 miles and never driven after that. This will be grafted into my XJ1100 console.

yep, that's lovely. I've been looking for years for the European version of .........it has the word Yamaha at the bottom, just to make things awkward when sourcing Nos. do you mind my asking what it cost?

I paid $85 US. Free shipping. I almost don't want to use it. That's the curse of NOS.

BTW, what do you do about exhausts on your restorations? Do you re-plate or go stainless?

Mostly I try to stay stock but with ceramic coatings, I can be close. They also seem to scratch worse than I thought, but damn they look great. If I could afford new stainless i would be there.

Sorry, I'm talking nonsense. the Euro versions do NOT have Yamaha on them. I was getting it confused with a couple of NOS ones I found that did have Yamaha on...perhaps one of the US models???

I went stainless on the last two restorations. They are about as near to oem in appearance as one can get, although expensive. I bought heat shields NOS as the stainless ones didn't come with them.
