Same location with no mods to the bracket. Also, the Venturer's stock front and rear pegs are already wide like the XJ's pegs. I re-located the rear pegs like I stated some 7-8 yrs. ago, so the mod wasn't actually copied from anyone previous, and have owned the Venturer from new.

Just say it looks better....So I don't feel like poop!
XS11 Friends,
As I prepare for XSSE '16 I've been doing some misc. repairs, touch-ups, and upgrades.
My first "Vision" of this bike was to be a little different and maybe "Classy" in some way. I shaved the emblems (looked like old poop anyway) and I became use to the look. Although I am NOT a cheapo on safety issues: Tires, Brakes, SS Lines, internal engine parts, gaskets, Mikuni carb parts etc. I tend to be a little CHEAPO on the accessories to make up for the other $$$$ stuff. So, skipping the badges was also a CHEAPO move too.
I got a wild hair and decided to buy the Australian Metal Badges for her. I have gotten little tired of "Is this one of those 1100's?" questions even though I put an XS Eleven badge on the front tool bag.
Now, over $100 later +Express shipping charges to make the XSSE deadlines.... I don't think I like it at all! ... Maybe I'm use to shaved badges? Maybe the Yamaha Fork Logos are now out-of-place? Maybe I just need to get use to it?
Please, TELL ME IT LOOKS BETTER! Even if it does look like POOP, tell me it looks better anyway. Damn, I wish I hadn't tossed the $100+ on these. I can't turn back now.... I re-drilled the holes I had previously filled and I don't think I can manage to get this fixed too before XSSE.
This machine has come a LONG LONG Way! I DO feel very good about that!
Kurt
FYI.... Here's a link for the super quality metal badges from Australia....

It's horrible, Kurt, just horrible.
You should send those nasty replicas from that upside-downy place to me and I'll get rid of them for you and no extra for all that sheeping!-- Scott

Have to Get Used to Things that Change
I'm pretty sure if you took them off, you'd want them back.
I'm not used to seeing it either way... and if it were my bike, I would definitely prefer the badges. To me it looks wrong without them.-Mike

Badges
Kurt,
The bike and badges look fine. Makes the bike look period correct. Some think you are hiding something if you leave them off. If you want to take them back off, fill the holes (again), and repaint everything, just sent them on over to me. Pay no attention to Scott. Last post to this thread was over 6 years ago.... Thought it was time for an update!
Nancy and I took her to FDR park a couple months ago when the FJR was in the shop for a factory recall (FJR SECOND GEAR REPLACEMENT - GO FIGURE!!).
Here's some recent photos.
Mayberry is still running great and I will be taking her to work tomorrow. I'll be taking Mayberry to the Vintage Yamaha Rally this year with the SR500 too.

The European folks will argue the name strongly as they were not offered this fairing for their bikes. The fairing they were offered was quite different as seen on the EURO 1.1. XS11's.
Yamaha made kits to mount this fairing to all of their round headlamp bikes of the era (XS, XJ, etc.) The same fairing can be used on any of the models with the appropriate mounting kit. I have several and haven't had tpoo hard a time finding them. Typically, they go for about $250.
I have them on three of my XS11's and LOVE THEM!
(Gold bike has a SHOEI Fairing - Not a Yamaha SPORT Fairing).
Sorry for the long-winded response. Sometimes the naming of these greats a crazy discussion.

Three. OMG. That’s quiet a collection. Looking at yours, now I need to get out my wax and polish and dust off my 79. Bought it new. Still runs like a top. I’ve got a Vetter on mine. It’s big and ugly but offers great protection.
Just need to get the headlight to come back on now. Most recent project.Jeff Korn
