I did not break ribs and rode the bike home but hurt for weeks and I am sure my spleen is some where else now but I am still here.
Brent just get well I know you want the bike back together and be rolling down the road but give yourself time

OK, here's the latest on my exhaust issue.

I've been running my Mac headers with some home made straight through perforated baffle NOISY mufflers. It runs great with them but it rivals Hardleys in exhaust decibels.

Bit the bullet and bought a brand new flare tip Mac 2 into 1 system. The only Mac mufflers with a removable baffle is the flare tip.

So, I put it on today and take a test run...............my stumble a WOT is back. This engine HATES the Mac baffle design. At least these mufflers I can work with and modify the baffles.

I'm going to try and find a small glass pack blank muffler that will slide into these muffler tubes.

        Stay tuned.......pun intended.

Anyone here have a pair of straight through perforated muffler baffles they might want to get rid of?

            Ideal dimensions would be 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" diameter x 16" long.

Maybe something like this would work - 1 3/4" baffle
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

Got the muffs done today finally. J &P Cycle is a PITA, only took 30 days to get the original order and they sent 2 this time. SMDH

I've come to the realization that this engine HATES any kind of back pressure. Got 'em al back together with the straight through baffles, except the J&P ones are slightly smaller and the perforation sticks WAY down into the flow, put them on for a test ride...............stumble at WOT is back again haunting me.

Gonna open the J&P ones up some tomorrow and hopefully go in the right direction again.

On the positive side, it sounds GREAT! Got a nice semi quiet glass pack rumble.

That bit of restriction may be cured with a one clip raise dropping the metering rods.

Brant how will METERING RODS clear restricted exhaust?

Maybe I should check the voltage at the mufflers.

I get what Brant is saying... Tune the carbs to the exhaust. As long as it is a rich stumble, he is offering a good thought. Go the other way if it is lean, as you know.

FWIW Greg, a one clip position change IS equivalent to 1/2 a step with a main jet change. Raise the clippy one position and lean that ride a tad.............and then followed with a voltage check at those just replaced mufflers.
