Those will work, but with our fuel system, these will suffice.

These are the type I use. I get them at my honda dealer and that is also where I find the stock replacement fuel lines which lasts many years. Our Yammy dealer has recently been taken over by someone new and I hope they stock better stuff than the old owner.2-79 XS1100 SF

I have those fuel lines and don't use any clamps on mine. I've had them on for a couple of years without issue. For peace of mind, I doubt you need anything more than the simple spring clamps that Marty suggested.82J · 81SH · 79SF Fire Damage · 78E · 79F Parts Bike · 04 Buell Blast

Sorry for the confusion, I have the 1/4" e-bay Tygon lines without clamps. I just pulled my carbs last week. The ends attached to the tank came off with a bit of tugging, but nothing as difficult as bulk rubber lines from the auto store.
I haven't had any leaking issues and replace the fuel filters once or twice a year as they pick up bits of rust from my tank. I removed the stand filters on the petcocks to let loose rust work its way out over time.
I might use spring clamps when I put the carbs back in the bike this time around.
I had to use an easy out on a stripped out and stuck mixture screw. Time to hit up MikesXS for a new set...

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Since u had to use an easy-out, that tells me that the point of the screw may be stuck and broke off in the hole. Make sure that the hole in the casing is clear......Sometimes u can run your finger in the carb and feel the point sticking thru."Pop.pa Pipes"

If it's of any help, my lower portion of fuel line is OEM from tees to filters, with the OEM clamps at the tees only. From the little barrel type filters, which happen to be ones used on Victory/Bomadier(spelling sucks) to my petcocks is a blue see-thru aftermarket fuel line from the same local Yammy/Victory dealer. No clamps, and they DO push off the barb petcock tees with difficulty(as you well know from all my carb 'fiddling', and ump-teen times of removal). ALL those fuel lines have now been on bike for over 7yrs. and are still flexible and do NOT kink....ever! If your interested in who the manufacturer of the blue see-thru line is, I'd be glad to run by there first of week and check. They just pull whatever you need in length out of the packaged coil and cut it off. They told me at that time they went to using it as a replacement as it is pretty much impervious to the effects of the alcohol fuel. The lower portion of the black OEM fuel line seems just as impervious to the effects of the fuel too, so guess it's buyers choice.

Seems like good stuff. Of course can't comment on longevity. They said they have good luck with it, especially on snowmobiles.80 SG

Just so that you're aware: when you removed the filters you also removed the On and Reserve/Prime capability from over 600 lbs. of motorcycle.
The filters have two "levels" built into them. The first level is above the bottom of the tank and it's used for the normal On position. The second, lower level is closer to the bottom of the tank and it's used for the Reserve and Prime positions.
With the filters removed, the fuel is drawn from the very bottom of the tank along with any water, sediment and rust. When the bike runs out of fuel there won't be any left for Reserve because the tank's empty.
