Saw this on the ST Owners forum and was wondering if this would work on our headlight assemblies??? These are rated at 3 times as bright as an equivalent Halogen bulb...

It works for you because you are a member and logged into the site probably. When I went to the link it took me to a log in page.

It will fit in the 11 headlight socket since it is an H4 bulb. But there may be an issue with the dim/bright and/or the 11's dash light that indicates a bulb failure. Won't know for sure until it is tried.1981 XS1100H Venturer

Hey Ben- I've bought countless LED bulbs with ballasts, without ballasts, and even high power led bulbs for my car. None of them worked well. If they suck in a car's headlight housing, and the bulb you showed is EXACTLY the same for automotive application, then I'd assume they would suck in a motorcycle application. If I was you, I'd save your pennies and buy the Truck-Lite LED housing.1979 XS1100F

They work for motorcycles...this one is a Triumph Explorer...if it fits I think I will try it...
I dont assume anything but from what others are saying who have used them and have nothing but positive things to say abt them...

I think it comes down to the optics of the reflector. If you look at the material of the housing used in the Truck-Lite versus our housing, it's night & day. I found that the LED's work great in a flood application (thus my driving lights on the forks), but to replace a halogen bulb for a an LED for distance without the reflectors to focus the beam, you'll be disappointed just as I was. In my opinion, you get what you pay for . . .
And, just a side-note, the bike in the pic above has three sets of driving lights. If the LED headlight was anything decent, that rider woulda ditched at-least two sets of those aux. lights.Last edited by IanDMacDonald; 05-22-2015, 10:29 AM.1979 XS1100F

Also, this bulb is designed for a dirt bike, not a street bike. So, any upgrade from a dim dirt bike bulb will bring rave reviews. How about finding a similar bulb with similar reviews for a street bike application?1979 XS1100F
