    The midrange (1/4 to 3/4 throttle) has very, very little to do with the pilot screws. The midrange is fed through the 3 small holes behind the throttle plate and metered by the pilot jet.

    The popping is caused by a LEAN condition on decel. That's the only time I will mention counting turns on the pilots. After all the vacuum adjusting I've found that it leaves the idle mixture just slightly lean (popping slightly on decel) so an extra 1/4 to 1/2 turn open puts it pretty much right where it should be.

        Don't worry about that. Our intake manifolds do not use threaded nipples. So, don't worry about buying them.
