    Hi,

I do not know if they are genuine parts, I had them sonic cleaned, rebuilt and visually restored. I did replace the needles with the Viton tipped ones with matching seats after I got them back. I'm shying away from the carbs because the fault is intermittent, or at least only once it gets warm, but I could be so far from correct with that assumption.

I just rode it again and it is surging at idle when hot, bogging and back firing.

      Intermittent

May want to run a valve clearance check. Also run a compression/cylinder leakage test.

          James that's awful!

I just ordered the Motion Pro tool to check the valve clearances. I probably won't have this girl back on the road this year at this rate

Well a few more updates for continuities sake.

I had installed new exhaust gaskets before this season and thought after some riding they may have seated in and needed to be tightened. I tightened my exhaust nuts, which weren't all that loose.

I re wired all of the pick up wires on the timing advance, and bumped the Idle up a little on the high side just to rule it out.

I was able to take it out last night for about 30-35 miles with no major issues, I think the carbs need to be synced but they aren't bad. Temps last night were about 45 degrees. The last time I rode it with issues the temps were around 75-80. I'm hoping it wasn't just running better because it new got on the over hot side

Might want to pull out the multimeter

I had the same thing happen to my bike. One of the coils went bad, but didn't show up until it warmed up. There is a thread here that shows how to check if the coils are good using a multimeter. An old mechanic said to replace both while you are at it. Andreas provided me with replacements and they work fine.
