Usually not. Having said that, I've always just put them in engines just as they come out of the box.
XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.
I side gapped mine about two years ago. Seemed to much improve the way the F idled and accelerated. There is a post on here somewhere that tells of how to do that. I was told the plugs would not last long. Now after about 10K, it is starting to run rough. I will pull the plugs tomorrow and check them out. Let you know then.http://www.xs11.com/forum/images/icons/icon11.gif

I always check them and almost always they are correct.
But, you never know if they have been dropped, so that's why I always check them.

what a PITA just trying to find an autoparts store that has anything remotely close to NGK BP6ES...a local advance auto only has NGK 7333 which s supposed to be compatible...according to the listing here on this site...so I go okay lets get them...welll the store locally doesnt have them but the store in Raleigh does...so they can deliver them to my local store...But it took them all day to do it and i gave up waiting...a day wasted...will see if they came in tmrw. but geeeez
Geeze, now I feel dumb and entitled. Never thought to check my plus, as I assumed they were always pre-gapped. I find them easily available at Advance, Auto Zone and O'Reilly's, as well as two small bike shops. I even got the NGK Irridiums @ Advance for $6/pc.
