  • Things can get confused between keyboards.

I have known all along exactly what he is doing through PM's exactly for this reason. I think I'll stick to PM's.

Most of the other XS super guru's have just quit posting because of the background noise that occurs on the 11 channel. Trying real hard not to go there.

Seems every time I try to help a newby on here I end up in a ridiculous confrontation. That ain't any fun so I usually just go to PM's or just quit talking. You just caught me in a confrontational mood.

Please accept my apologies as required also.

He just didn't answer that question quick enough. I knew all along he was working with the 16 inch wheel and needed what I was trying to tell him. I believe where we got confused is we were both typing over each other with advice.

You must be a type "A" person.... so am I. Accept my apologies if apologies are necessary and I think we can agree we have come to the same conclusion as to what he now needs to resolve his issue.

      Mes.... what do you say?
Grateful to everyone who's spent but one minute of their time trying to help. Fully deserve and admit to being a rookie at this.

      • I hate to jump in here, but a couple of pages ago when Greg posted that Partzilla schematic, Cajun said it was part #23, and then Greg also said it was part #23, but that was the wrong part # anyways..#23 is the "C" ring that holds the bearing in, the actual spacer part is #25.

Not sure if that was what got him/Mes confused, or just the doublebarrelled advice channels you guys were posting? But like Cajun said, you've gotten him straightened out now knowing that he just needs to get the thicker Special dust seal/spacer and he may also need a different brake torque plate.

Thanks for chilling down before it might have gotten real ugly!

        • no apologies necessary

BA and all of you on this board... please do not stop posting publicly on this forum... that is what it is for. No one will learn anything without your valuable input. I have been around this forum for 12 years now and I have learned a tremendous amount about these bikes from folks just like you. It is never my desire to be confrontational and is probably why my post number is so low. I too have been PMing Mes on his problems and is why I have been so involved on this one.

TC..... thanks as always for your moderation. If push came to shove I would have gladly bowed out....

Mes .... I am happy to see you are on the road to recovery... if there is anything else I can help you with PM me.... I will not post anything else to this thread.

Uhmmmm....sorry TC but in the schematic posted in #120 is listed as "collar shaft" which in English translated is a spacer. The one shown is the inner spacer for a Special, not a snap ring.

              • Drama

Gee, I step away for one day and look at all the drama I missed. Nice shop BA80. So Mes are you all squared away now? The LH I have had similar issues. Someone had lost one of the swing arm spacers and rather than removing it again and fixing that, they just removed a rear wheel spacer to compensate. The guy I bought it off, didn't know much about them and was scared to ride the bike because it wouldn't corner one way and wanted to dive the other. The rear wheel screached when turning it by hand.Thats why I got it so cheap.
