Hi, John (left hand waving as you ride by) -

Well, I was trying really hard not to go there (use that pun), but you know, you just may have something there!

If we coin the term "Knacker" to mean (at least on this side of the pond, anyway) someone who has "a knack for" ...

We could start a whole new slang designation for use on the forum: The Knackers of Channel 11 !!!

Thanks. That was south Texas in April of 2012 I think. M.O.M. Rally in San Antonio. Bags and fairing have changed since then.

Installed the spacer thanks to BA80. I can see how mine was definitely inadequate.

Final problem is the still the brakes dragging on the rotor. When I turn the wheel on the centerstand I hear them.

Probably will have to bleed and clean them, but hopefully that's it.

Hearing them isn't necessarily a problem, if they are dragging that is a problem.

I hear a really light grinding. Not sure how much resistance the wheel is supposed to give, really. It gives some, but I know that's normal.

The light rasping is normal. When you turn the rear wheel by hand in neutral you are still turning the gears in the final drive, middle drive, and the transmission. There will be SOME resistance, it shouldn't take much effort to turn though. If the brakes are hanging you'll be able to tell.
