The last picture you posted shows the stock latching diode in the 3H5 headlight relay itself, it looks like a little ceramic bead on a wire. The diode in White wire in the wiring harness supplies half-wave rectified 12V DC to turn on the headlight relay when the alternator starts charging.
Once the relay is energized by the alternator, the latch diode keeps the relay energized.
The diode in the White wire in the wiring harness then blocks the 12V DC system voltage supplied through the latching diode from being back-fed into the alternator, voltage rectifier and regulator until the power is shut off at the ignition switch.
