If you pinch one line to one of the calipers it will feel great operating just one.
    Greg,
I'm pretty sure it works without running out of fluid. Application is nice and linear with little effort. My stock setup with stainless lines is wooden feeling. I think if I was changing the ratio, I'd do it under the advisement of a pro, as I'm not. It could be bad to squeeze to the grip and not get full application. According to Michael Morse's chart, I'm at about 12 to 1 ratio.

The correct size for Specials with SS lines is 16mm, the correct size for Standards with SS lines is 14MM. The caliper piston sizes differ between the two. The larger stock MC piston (11/16") is fine for use with the flex of rubber lines, you won't run out of lever. If you use these smaller sizes with rubber lines it will not work and you will run out of lever. I have aftermarket modern MC's on both my Standard and my Special with SS lines and it is a huge improvement over the stock setup.

You got pics of the brake setup you are running?

Also, I'm removing the rpm cluster and also the lights in the center (upgrading to single bulb led to take up less space). Will I run into any issues with the Speedo having the rpm cluster removed. Eventually once all the stuff is removed the wiring Will be cleaned up and what's gone will be removed from the harness and what gets added will be added to the harness.

I run this 16MM master on my Special, it can be ordered with a LH thread mirror mount cap and it's brake light switch plugs right into XS11 harness...

I run this 14MM master on my Standard, it uses the stock XS11 brake light switch and has LH mirror thread...

I seen that when I was searching. How much smaller is it over the stock special?

About 3/4 the size of the OEM.

For short handle bars, you may want to try to find a MC that has the line coming flush off the front of the resivior and not the inside.

I was looking at something around this style.

Price on that isn't to bad, just would have to do some research on how well it's built.

Makes you wonder, the above unit is a "Brombo". Sounds really close to "Brembo". Look around a bit, that same unit without the name "Brombo" can probably be found for less than $89.

I was wondering about the line's swelling, I may switch over to stainless and see if that improves my lever feel. I always run stainless on my cars if possible and love the firmness. I just picked up a unit from dimecitycycles.com, I thought mine was sticking, and hated the look of the stock reservoir so I just snagged a new one instead of getting a rebuild kit. Low and behold the master wasn't the problem in the first place and my front brakes still hang up a bit occasionally, I'm thinking the stainless line's might fix that problem too, if not I may need to rebuild the calipers or just give em a good service.

                          Hey Marty,

Thanks for the idea, I've got some extra 6061 material, and I've bypassed my OEM speedo, was wondering about cover the opening end of the speedo drive, but this looks better and cleaner!

Instead of the $42.50 for the adapter, one could probably use an extra right side hub spacer with an extra 17MM ID spacer of the correct length, JAT.

I'm not removing Speedo, just the rpm cluster. Just wanting to know if I will hit any issues without it.

No harm removing it, no more low fuel warning light and high beam warning unless you wire somthing else for them.
