Might look around the man-cave for the missing spacer that escaped.

If it was to the right, maybe.
But this is to the left toward the differential, this should/can not be ? ? ?

Hmm, it can if you misplaced the spacer for the needle bearing.

Did the bearing seal come out at any time while you were wrestling with the wheel? The seal holds the spacer in the hub next to the bearing and it will fall out if the seal is out of the wheel.

Is the needle bearing center race still in place or is the axle riding on the bearing rollers?

What is it that makes you think it's too far to the left? It slides into the final drive on the left and that's all. The only spacer is, as already mentioned, the inner race for the left bearing and unless the seal was removed it can't fall out.

New tire rear wheel to far left

If I lost anything on the left side wouldn't the wheel be closer to the differential on that side ?
Tire still clears the drive shaft housing, it's a 130/90/16.
This is really noticeable, if had been this way with the other tire I'm sure it would have been seen and changed the aim of the steering.

                    Thank You Greg !
Yes, I'll get a pic of the alignment in the light. Had to take a break and rest my back.

Those pics I posted are the rear wheel correctly mounted on my SG. The left side of the tire is very close to the drive shaft tube while the right side there is about 1 3/4" between the tire and the swing arm. That's normal.

Being so close to the D/L tube is the reason it's difficult to run a wider tire on the rear like a lot of people would like to.

Here you can see how far to the left

Left side, notice how much tire is seen

                        Rt sd

                        Drive spline

What is causing this ? Thanks, Done

Everything looks correct at the wheel. Have you had the swing arm off? It looks like either the swing arm is way off center in the bearings or the rear part of the frame is bent.

                            Thanks again Greg !
Did not take swing arm off, is it just a matter of bearing wear ?
Seems it would take more wear than the bearing could allow to get this far off ?
Bike has 14K on the clock.
Seems it must be the upper rear frame ?
How to straighten the frame if it's bent ?

Take the seat off and possibly the rear fender and do some eye balling and maybe some measuring. Verify that it is bent before going any further.

It would take a pretty good hit to bend it however I've seen it before.

This is RockinD's frame we swapped out on his SG. Notice how the rear part of the frame is bent down.

He couldn't figure out why his rear wheel was rubbing the fender on bumps.
