  • Job well done, that's a good ending! Always a good reminder to not overlook small easy stuff. We all are guilty of that since it took 300 posts to figure this out!

Now that bike is ready to come to the Colorado Rally in July if your brakes work...

BTW, ZRX carbs have the same spacing as the XS11... http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35462

    • Well before I go on a real ride,
I've gotta get the brakes right,
Put on my new front tire,
      Soften my suspension some,
      Vacuum sync the carbs,
      And adjust the valves!

      Then all the cosmetic crap!
      Front wire hiding shroud,
Remove, blast, paint, install about everything,
Re-route throttle and choke cables again, or shorten them,
      Finish making gauge housing,
      Make blinkers work,
      Etc etc!!!

Very happy and very excited though.

      So conclusion to this thread:
If you want to run open headers and pod filters,
      Follow the jet guide!
4 over mains, 1 over pilots.
I have my pilot screws at 4 turns out.

THEN MAKE SURE YOUR GAS TANK FILLER CAP VENT SYSTEM ISN'T PLUGGED!!!!!!! Hahaha

I think this novel sized thread should beer over now. Ill start new ones on my new problems!

Like, temperature gauge, should I install one? Same question with oil pressure gauge...
      Uhh what else is there....
      Should I get/make a fork brace?
      Steering stabilizer?
What else should I do to this thing?!

Here is my 75% compete roughed up beast, now running and worthy of a pic thanks to all of you!

            I got these jets, from here:;
            Mains:

            http://www.ebay.com/itm/251519084489...84.m1439.l2649

If your carbs keep going out of sync maybe the spring keeping tension on the sync screws are weak/gone?

That is probably your problem, I believe there should be a decent amount of constant tension to keep them set, sort of like a lock washer.

I thought you read all the posts!?!? Haha
Yes, it does make a difference. However I don't know if your carbs take bleed or non bleed.

Maybe a guru can chime in on that one??

                    • Well, it is an XJ instead of an XS, so the 8 airbleed holes in the pilot jets are not for everyone. If it works, it works. No one can argue with success (except for bull-headed managers when they couldn't take credit, but I digress...)
