Is anyone else having problems finding batteries? All the local places no longer carry or can get my batteries. I've tried walmart, farm n fleet, big R, tractor supply, menards. Also checked with our local bike shop. He can get one but at 110 thats 40 to 50 more than last year. Any help! I need 3 to start with.

Maybe I can send the SKU, or a picture of the box, or a scan of the receipt when I get home tonight. Do you think it would help?-Mike

That's cause you're asking for a battery for an old bike.
The ones that we buy from Walmart are normal everyday bike batteries.
Here it is:

Battery
I have purchased several batteries at http://www.batterymart.com. The last one from them was their part number PC680 - Odyssey. Paid $111.95. They have a wide selection. Check them out. Other websites had this battery priced at $135.

The battery # for an xs11 is Y50-N18L. The important part of that # is the 18L. Anything with the 18L will fit.
Walmart has them for $60-$70. They have to be filled and charged for about 24 hours at 3 amps or so.Greg

Actually, a 1.5amp charge rate on a newly serviced lead-acid wet cell battery is the better option to avoid premature sulfation and avoid a 'surface' charge. Just what I was taught OJT by those more knowledgable than I at that time
.
Must be somethin' to it, as I regualrly get 8-9.5ys. service from both my bikes batteries(Interstate) and I do NOT own a batt. tender, which is an other subjet entirely

I don't own a tender either ( other than me starting it regularly) and my battery charger only goes down to 2 amps.Actually, a 1.5amp charge rate on a newly serviced lead-acid wet cell battery is the better option to avoid premature sulfation and avoid a 'surface' charge. I think 2 - 3 amps is recommended in the battery instructions when you buy one. IIRC.

Battery Charging
I have found an interesting difference in a bike with the standard rectifier/regulator compared to one with the Geezer unit installed.
I can crank up two bikes to warm them up. One has the standard r/r, the other has the Geezer r/r. Each one runs about 20 minutes. After turning both off, I then hook back up the battery tenders. The stock r/r lights up the tender to the 85% blinking red light. The Geezer equipped bike lights up the still fully charged green light.
Bottom line - the Geezer unit works!
