Is the crankshaft seal leaking or the oil galley plug (right cover holds it in at the bottom) leaking?

Whatever you do don't start it with that right cover off or you'll blow that plug out across the shop.

              Oil Leak

Does the plug just pull out, if I grabbed it with a vice grip?

It may not be that easy but yes, it will come right out. The alternator cover holds it in there.

                  Oil Leak

So i got the plug right out, would it be advisable to get a little larger O ring and kinda force it in to seal it better, or just use the same size?

                      Oil Leak

I'm not sure but I thought I would try that before I rip the new seal apart that I just installed.

                        oil leak

So i guess it was not the galley plug
I'm looking for some advice on how to end this leak, seal has been replaced with a stock seal from Yamaha, any other options?

I'm wondering how you got an OEM seal back in there without splitting the cases. From my understanding the OEM seal has a lip on the outside that fits into a groove in the case.

                              Oil Leak

My understanding is the left side seal has a lip, the right does not, I'm working on the right side, thats why I got the factory seal from Yamaha, I just picked the old one out with a small screw driver and some caution so as not to hurt the shaft( possible small damage to the cases but very minimal), then i just drove it in gently with a piece of PVC pipe the same size
