There is also a connector under the tank for the starter switch that can lose contact due to corrosion or stretched pins. A good test is hook a wire to negative battery terminal and touch other end to the blue wire solder joint on the solenoid. Make sure the bike is in neutral. The engine should crank with the key on. This would verify the problem is with the switch button or the harness.

i got the starter botton housing case off but the blue white wite was soldered onto it and broke off. so i gotta solder it back on.
