I think I'll flip it next time. 600lbs dangling over you is a little unnerving.
I thought about being found dead under the bike a few times ! I did find that the guy that built the garage doubled up on the cross members, my chain hoist was only bolted to one right above the handle bars, so I put 3 30x2x6" together put my hanging bolt in the middle and crossed them between the 2 cross members. Did not pull it up as high as you did, pulled the rear wheel and lifted it on the center stand.

Say what would you suggest for greasing the gears and bearing before assembly ?

IMO, by the time it starts, oil pressure will have taken care of that anyways.

That's close to what I was thinking but I thought maybe turning it over with the plugs out till the oil light went out ?

Don you post #13 and procedure #4 did it for me. But Billy and D0wn5ifth made me think too in order to get er done.
Now to get most of the gasket off I'm using a single edged razor in a holder, the parts I can't get too with that I've decided on an X-acto sharp pointed blade. Then Right Stuff.

Somewhere there is a post I made about how I flipped a bike myself. It still had the signal lights and handelbars, mufflers etc on it when I did it. Couple of sand bags and planning and it was greasy side up.
I could have done it with the battery and gas tank still installed but I am not quite that stupid (close but not quite). Did drain the rear end and blocked of the vent tube for the middle drive but it was a piece of cake to flip single handedly.
