I mentioned this in another post a little while ago, have you checked the gap on your plugs? A few years back, another XSive and I took a road trip to Indianapolis leaving from my house on the west side of Cincinnati. We both filled up by my house, and we made it about 56 miles when his bike ran out of gas, bone dry. Had to ride pillion on my bike to get a gas can and some gas and get him back to his bike.

He had adjusted the plug gap to try to compensate for some tuning issue he had. When we got to Indy, he reset the plug gaps. On the way home he made the entire trip to his house on the East side of town on one tank.

So, just from plug gap, he halved his mileage? I have never seen that. Weird.

The wiring goes to the bottom-front of the tank (otherwise the wires won't reach. Don't ask how I know this. ) and the pointy thing goes up.

Otherwise you would have like a pint of gas left when, and if, the light came on. The sensor on Okie isn't really accurate. Sometimes the light will come on before I need to switch and sometimes it'll start missing on 2 and then I need to switch.

Coming home from work today it started sputtering at about 98 miles so I switched. 104 when I got home and still no light.

Pretty useless actually.

Sorry about that, Don, it looks like you're going to have to try sharpening the spark plugs!

One a trip to a rally in Gillette, my bike rotted-out the inside of one of the stock mufflers. My fuel economy dropped to 25 mpg when this happened.

Hmm, I use mine pretty much as a dd and seem to have the light come on 100 ish, 110-115 or so.
