Yep you're correct, forgot about the nipples CRS strikes again !!!

Late carbs vent the bowls in the intake bell, filter side.

    Thanxs for the reminder.

      Slow progress

After replacing the seals and reassembling my carbs, my misfire was still there. I believe the issue is with cylinder 3. So I pulled out a set of ‘81 carbs I’ve had for a long time. I have used them to trouble shoot issues in the past. I checked and they have 120 mains and everything else was bone stock for ‘81. The bike is a ‘79. Well it fires right up and synced with like 3 slight adjustments. I took it for a ride and it runs really good to 6k, then screams to redline. Definitely runs better than I can remember on those carbs. I’m just worried about how lean I’m running. Haven’t rode enough to read the plugs yet. I did also confirm leaks on at least 2 of my intake boots. They are Aftermarket replacements that are probably 5 years old. Recommendations on source of replacements this day and age? I’ll dissessmble the 3 & 4 ‘79 Carbs to investigate again I guess while I wait for new boots.

        Swaparo

I tore down 3 and 4 from the ‘79 set and the emulsion tube on #3 was the 3-2-3-2 hole type, not the 4-4-4-4. If I remember right, the later carbs had the 3-2-3-2. So I put a I believe aftermarket 4-4-4-4 in 3. The 3-2-3-2 tube was a Mikini. So now I am curious what is in the ‘81 set. I guess I’ll pull them tomorrow night.
