relocating rear turn signals

I remember reading on here somewhere someone talking about moving the rear turn signals to make room for a set of saddlebags. I think I am going to have to do the same, so I was looking for some advice. I will find out this weekend how much if any they need to be moved when I get the saddle bags out and hold them up to the bike.

There is a bar for the rear turn signals that bolts to the licence plate holder to move them back out of the way, maybe someone has one to sell, or you can get creative and make your own as I did.

I need to do the same thing. I have soft bags that rest on top of the signals. I am going to mount the signals on the back luggage rack I made so I can drop the bags lower to make room for strapping additional gear on top of the bags.

There is also a set of L-brackets that mount at the stock frame holes, but they arent as nice.

Ill swap my wide lic plate bracket for 2 normal mounts. 78 E. I have no use for the wide lights. I want them back to stock as I don't have saddlebags.

I just relocated mine to the sides of the tail light housing. Required drilling two holes and took less than a half hour.



I didn't have the bags on in this photo but that is the reason I moved them so I could put them on as needed.

If you can find them, there are some xs tail light housings that already have those holes in them with pinch bolts on the inside to hold the light in. Mine has those in there.

I just put rear hard bags on yesterday and now I'm trying to find ways to put the signals on... Lol.
