PET (PETE) is what soda bottles and plastic liquor bottles are made of. I have used the same plastic PET whiskey bottle for a year or so as auxiliary tank for syncing carbs without problems.

Plastic "T"
I just bought the cheap vacuum "T's" at the auto parts that come in those little multi size packs. Been on the bike about 8 months so far and holding. I do keep an eye on them, and you could go to a bike shop and get the OEM plastic "T's" to be sure1979 XS1100 Special (Mad Max, OEM) Current

Same kind of stuff I got at AutoZone, just didn't have to waite I used a "Y" for the Pingel "inlet". You could us a "Y" for the outlet also, but I have two inline filters between the Pingel "outlet" and the two carb "inlets" so the "T" and two ellbows worked better for me1979 XS1100 Special (Mad Max, OEM) Current

That link shows polypropylene. I think that petroleum industry standards for oil and gas lines are usually HDPE which is high density polyethylene. I saw that link on the page...
Heck, I would go with brass if I could find the right fittings!Skids (Sid Hansen)

Whatever plastic crap those filters I bought from Mikes XS were made out of did not withstand use with gasoline. Damn near burned one of my bikes down due to that filter.
Heat is another issue with plastic Tee's in that they will get warm enough behind that engine to distort is made of the wrong stuff. Again I point to the Mikes XS filters as they actually deformed from the engine heat.
Plastic is not plastic in all cases. Be sure if not using brass to find out before a mishap if they are gasoline suitable.2-79 XS1100 SF

80 XS 1100 SG Big bore kit but not fully running yet.
Couple of more parts bikes of which 2 more will live!
