Brass is fine. You should be able to find them locally at Ace hardware, brass ones.

Those same ones on eBay, take the part number and search here and get them without the eBay fees.

Do you mean the ones attached directly to the carbs or the ones in the fuel lines between the carbs and octy?

              Hi oldyam,
the stuff we have to use instead of gas these days will most likely dissolve plastic Tees.
Especially the windshield washer fluid Tees or aquarium Tees that some spotty teenage store clerk swore would be OK to use with gas.
Brass Tees ain't cheap but they are fuel proof.
              Or KISS it better.
trashcan the octy, plug the fuel tap PRIME ports and run 2 lines instead of 8.
Left tap to inline filter to right between-carb Tee and vice-versa.
Remember that the taps will now be manual so remember to turn 'em off when you park.

Hi Fred- i still have the octy and it works well.I make it a habit to always shut off the fuel. When my octy does fail,i will junk it then.I just got 2 brass 1/4" T fittings from E- Bay and they look good-slightly long but look nice.I also got a bunch of fuel line-maybe 30 feet recently.Just waiting on a good day to install everything.Too much snow and crappy weather here.

two T's hooked up as (tap hose T hose T hose tap) with the bottoms of the tees to the carb inlet one tap will feed both sides so you could only turn on one side if you want and still feed both carb sets
where are we going, and why are we in this hand basket?

I have brass ones on mine. I got them at my local hardware store. They take up a little more space than the plastic ones, but I won't have to replace them...ever.

                        Plastic T's

I used the cheap plastic "T" you can get at most auto parts stores for all connections "except" the two brass OEM "T's" at the carb bowls. ALL the other OEM "T's" were plastic on my bike, and my gas can's are plastic also The one thing I found gas will eat is the rubber vacum caps, don't use those on fuel

My wife gave me a plastic Y adapter from work once, which was a medical supply item used for oxygen tubing. It fit perfectly for my XJ fuel line routing. In the meantime, I had sent an e-mail to the manufacturer to ask what material it was made out of (mine you, this is a medical supply, so I would think they would have detailed information) and they replied with one word... "Plastic". They proved they could read the product description, "Plastic Y Connector". I guess I needed to be more specific.

When I think gasoline resistant plastics, I always think of PET or nylon.

I would think you would need to cross-reference resistance to "gasoline" and "ethanol"..

What is PET? Poly ethylene tygon? Most fittings that I have seen are made of nylon. I know there are some that are brittle that may be made of PVC which are just crap.
