If someone wants to steal the bike, they are going to anyway, regardless...
For the peace of mind, I installed an alarm system... it was about 170 euros (metasystem legos4), but it has a few nice functions.
It automatically blocks the ignition if the bike sits idle (without contact) for 50 seconds. It does not arm the alarm, so I can leave the keys in the bike while paying for gas or something.
I have to arm the system via remote (or disarm it). It will go into standby mode after 1 week, so it does not drain the battery. It does have its own battery, should someone try to cut the wires. It "notices" the classic stuff - tilt, voltage drop, vibrations etc... Also has a connector for GPS locator device, but I didnt get that one, as it costs a bit more.
Its not much, but kids wont steal it, professionals can, but you cant really prevent that.
