Young fellows can burn up the blacktop on it.
Middle aged guys can load up the hardbags with stuff and cruise off to the four corners of the country on it.
    Morons can hardtail it.
Fat old farts can even strap a sidecar on it because they ain't got the bottle to ride it solo.
Mind you, it'd take a real effin' hero to ride it on dirt, eh?

            Hmm

An all drums tune I gotta link that to my son and his band, that road reminds me of part of a highway trip in the US last year between Missoula WA. and Grangeville ID. beautiful road recently paved and I wanted to scream because I was driving my wifes minivan not my XS which I feel is an old school superbike.
Even a blind monkey gets the odd banana.

Isn't that how the phrase "Universal Japanese Motorcycle" came about? The could do just about anything you needed them to do with a little bit of customization.

Ain't that the truth! I had to take my 70 down a WELL WORN dirt road once that was a bit on the "damp" side. To top it off, the tires were well past the point of "replace me now you moron!" stage... My butt was clenched so tight to the seat I didn't even have to hold on!

Believe it or not, I ride the XS all the time down dirt/gravel country roads. Mind the ruts, and when in doubt, throttle out . I actually learned to ride on gravel and mud backroads, it's fun. Just keep on the gas and let the rear end do its little dance! Granted, it's no fun when the XS falls over...

The exhaust gets in the way, though. A lot.

I think that is quite a fair summary. I myself tend to treat it more like a streetbike. But it is a bike that definitely allows the individual rider to choose.

JeruelB, I was just kinda surfing through here and happened to notice you have a right front rotor on the left front. I can't see the other side to say if you have them switched around or not but the one I can see on the left is definitly a right side.
