You could take the rotor completely off and ride it a short distance on just the battery power to check. Just remember to put the stator cover back on before you start the engine so you don't blow the oil galley plug and oil across the garage.

other than that and what ron suggested i cant think of anything

Good luck Pete. Hopefully you'll find the rotor out of balance or bent and it'll be an easy fix.

Keep us posted. I'm interested in learning what you find.

Hi was wondering if you found out what the problem was just would like to know.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

i havent spent much time on it,
                ive lost motivation with it,
i took out the top engine mounts
and removed the 'outer sleeve' made
a bit of difference, couldnt get the others out
with out disconnecting the final drive,
                and breaking my back,
havent been bothered stuffing around with it any more,
made a bit of difference, its got the vibration
between 3500 - 4500, but its more ridable.
im in the process of selling it all up and looking
at updating to something much newer.

I had a bearing go bad on the shaft the clutch basket sits on. It had a funky vibration and knocked out the little bearing on the clutch cover also. Unfortunately, this was a case-splitting issue to fix.

Hate to hear of you giving up on it..

                    hey tod,
thats where i think my problem is, before changing out the clutch
basket, fibres and steels, the bike was unridable,
its better but not right, the clutch also chatters slightly in use.

ive got 3 engines sitting here, they all need to have the cases
split with different problems to be repaired.

Have you taken the valve cover off and verified cam timing? if its way retarded or advanced it can cause cylinder mix up @ high rpm and full ignition advance... JAT

hmmm... well..... sounds like a balance issue somewhere then. or the ignition is getting way pissed as it advances. Dunno buddy. Hope you figure it out.
