    half way in

well i tried n tried couldn't get the motor mounts to budge.. even with a little help from a ac pump on loan and air ratchet.. the frame and swing arm don't look that bad. the frame looks like its been powder coated all ready the rust that's on it is just wiping away and back down to the black coat with a light scrub and CLR. so im just gonna clean the engine/trans/frame the best i can while mounted. Then i can start getting her back together piece by piece as the money flows in. next month i get a new rear master cylinder one way or another then i just need to rebuild the calipers and get SS lines. I will get a carb kit probably in May, then it will be onto the regular maintenance stuff. I.E changing fluids/seals getting a new battery.. so she may get her first start near the end of May, Beginning of June. then it will be getting new tires and working out all the kinks/quirks. so i will update when things change/get done.

I'll bet the PO tried to use compress air into the fuel line to open passages.

something liek that i know he told me when the carbs flooded with gas he blew air thru the fuel lins and it stopped flooding while it was running till the batt died then it flooded everywhere
i just drained the oil lkast night and there was about 5 quarts in it but it was more gas then oil guess after it flooded he didnt change the oil just let it sit.
so now i have that to deal with too.

            im about fed up

                  update

Guess its about time for an Update.. been busy with other things but i got the bolts fixed on the tank. so im ready to clean that, i put the carb floats in hot water and 3 of the 4 instantly sank so i guess i know for sure now why it overflowed.. so getting the new floats is next on my list. other then that nothing else has been done to it. and im still in no hurry

Hey Jfries, great buy, I just read up on your post...your bike is almost like mine, with few differences(mine is '79 and it set for almost 25 years)
But, a key is patience with those bikes... this forum is a great resource, unlike any other
the only thing that's slowing down my project is money, and I bet there are many members that have the same problem

Keep at it, and take a lot of pics, for us to google over them
