Great progres. They come apart pretty quick really. Its the cleaning and proper preparation before reinstalling that takes the real time. Enjoy and have fun!!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

If you're doing this by yourself, the easiest way I've found is to strip the frame of everything except the centerstand (including all the motor mount bolts), then tip it forward until the front is on the ground. Pick up the rear and 'close' the centerstand, then lower the rear to the ground. Put some padding down and carefully lay the motor/frame over on it's left side. Lift the frame straight up, and there you are....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

On the stand like you show it is fine. No need to pull final drive/swing-arm assembly. With the boot slipped back off the middle drive, remove the four flange bolts and the motor mount bolts. Engine comes out the RIGHT side, with the help of one other person. One other boby for help makes it easier to remove and install. Also, if you haven't already, remove the coils up on top-side of frame. otherwise the valve cover won't clear. Your choice, but this IS the easiest way for removal. Did it myself ONCE, but would advise another set of hands.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

i did remove the coils.. i just ran to get some Pb because i was out and the motor mounts wouldn't turn and i didn't wanna force them. i don't have another set of hands besides the wife and she wont help lol.. i do have an old mattress then 6inches of foam so i might put it on its side like Steve said to do.im we shall see. i may just have to tear down what i can and leave it on the mounts i don't know yet. but plenty of time to figure it out...1978 XS1100 Macho Maroon!

Not sure about the CarbCapital ones, never used that seller. Georgefix is a great seller to deal with. He knows our bikes and carbs and knows what you need. I have bought a lot of things from him and always been very happy with the purchase.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
