Hey guys. My Dad and I just got a set of these. For the price they are actually really good. Couple of things I don't like about them but they are really clear. They will sync with your phone for calls and play media through the speakers and you can link 3 of these together as intercoms. (Limit of 3 really kinda sucks but oh well.)

If only they'd make the microphone in a wired version, and not on a boom. Those booms are not meant to fit in a full-face. The only thing I've found is the european version of the Scala Rider headset. The US version never comes with anything but a boom mic.1980 XS850SG - Sold

Gee, you guys,
Do not yabble as you ride. Concentrate on looking where you are going and on listening for horns & squealing tires; it'll be far safer. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the need to communicate, pull off, park and then make the call.Fred Hill, S'toon

I want it for GPS spoken directions. My phone can give me directions via Bluetooth, but I need some kind of listening setup in my helmet. Having the ability to tell SWMBO that I'm on the way home when she calls would be nice too.1980 XS850SG - Sold

I reckon the advantages of instant communication are outweighed by the way they distract a rider from the primary mission of looking where he's going and paying attention to traffic.
If you are lost, pull off and then check the paper or the electronic map for directions.
Then call home. What's really nice is you call from a parking lot instead of from an ambulance.Fred Hill, S'toon

I agree. I have enough to deal with riding the bike and dealing with other drivers. I don't want ANYTHING else to distract me from controlling the bike and avoiding the other idiots on the road (and I don't always remove myself from the class of idiot on the road, I unfortunately do have my days).

We got them mostly for when we go on our ride in June. We got them mostly for the communicator part. Being able to talk to the other riders in your party will be nice. Easy to say when you need to rest your butt or gey some gas or what have you.1980 Yamaha XS1100SG

And if you live in Canada in an area not around a large city your life isn't in peril every second of the ride(except for wild life) and you would be able to do some of the attention robbing things previously mentioned. Old dudes gotta remember when we grew up there were no electronics, portable phones, GPS, etc. it ain't wrong to use it just be wise and keep our crash stats down.Even a blind monkey gets the odd banana.

My bike has a CB with a stand alone speaker and mic controls... wanna talk about distracting! You gotta take a hand off the controls to jabber in the thing. I've been looking of a good com system for several reasons both are for longer rides. 1 So my wife and buddy's wife can jabber @ each other on a separate channel, 2 as I ride faster than said buddy if I decide to pull off somewhere I can warn him and he knows where I turned off. 3 it would keep both my hands on the controls and can communicate to another rider.
I figure if I can Text and drive I can use a com system and ride!Don

I do most of my riding out in the county, where caggers aren't as much of an issue. It is nice to be able to communicate while ridding, I'm not holding a business meeting or anything.1979 XS1100Comment

I'm the same way... only time i get the CB mic out of the fairing and put it on the handlebars is when I'm up in the mountains. Its good to hear the loggers jabber so you know what may lie ahead. I'm planning on getting some com units before my 5 day trip in June. I'll post up what I getDon

The com function is easy to use. Reach up an push one button. You sync them together before your ride. The headset answers the call automatically if you get one. Never really get phone calls myself. You have to dial in the phone so you would want to pull over if you wanted to make a call.
The nice things about this kind of speaker set up is that they don't block all your hearing of the road. The are far enough from yours ears that you can still hear any problems with your bike or any traffic.
My dad has a full face helmet and I have a flip up modular. Works fine for both. The boom doesn't get in the way and is easily adjusted with your lips if you need.1980 Yamaha XS1100SG

That system looks to be a great deal if it delivers the goods as stated in their ad. Similar systems like Scala and Cardo go for north of $300 a set. These come in at under $100 a set. Pretty good deal in my estimation.
I'm not going to get into the polemic of when/where/if they're safe to use. That's a consideration for the user to make, we're all grown ups around here.
Let us know the ups and downs you find Aronoth.1980G Standard, Restored

Yep, I saw that you can only synch up three units. Not a big deal for me.
I'm more interested in the range, according to the literature they're suppose to comm for a distance of 500m, 1650 ft. That's pretty good if it's true.1980G Standard, Restored
